Few days back I upgrade my VW JETTA MK6 from standard heated side mirrors to Power Folding Mirrors with Puddle Lights. Credit will be to eastcostvagparts.webs.com & technician Mr. Mazen...

Step 1 - removing door panel as showing here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tzyv8owgI_4 be careful for window switch to break it.

Step 2 - unplug mirror connector from the door module (open connector lock it is red tongue pull it out then pull the connector), and other connectors, be careful for alarm light wire is short.

Step 3 - take out the mirror (one after one) replace it by the new OEM mine part # 5C7857507C, it is one screw from inside then from outside pull from down to up and take it out.

Step 4 - to fix the new mirror you insert it in its place from upper side under window rubber then push it to fit in its place, now from inside tide the screw normally.

step 5 - connect all wiring in the correct place, fix door panel, clean then go to VAG-COM.

Step 6 - VAG-COM module 42 - door elect. Driver side folding mirrors installed + puddle light

Step 7 - VAG-COM module 52 - door elect. Passenger side folding mirrors installed + puddle light

pictures are here for VAG+COM

You would be able to do it with Euro style mirrors, they are Power Folding.

Two ways to go is use the mirrors 5C7 857 508AR and 5C7 857 507AM and use a universal folding switch, this way you
do not have to replace the Window Door Regulators and no Coding.

Or do the original factory install, you will need the mirrors and the door modules and switch and do the coding.

3C0 959 792J and 3C0 959 793J door modules, 5C7 959 565N mirror switch.

You will need to copy the coding from the old module and make adjustments from there

If husseinayash resolves his Folding Mirrors issue, his solution will only apply to GLI vehicles. His Saudi Jetta is an ROW vehicle based on the BCM PQ35 electrical system. NAR Jettas are based on the BCM PQ25 electrical system. Likewise, whatever he did to get Puddle Lights will not work on NAR Jettas.

After all researchers need doors module to be change driver side & passenger as I guess and I'm still checking what are the possible way to change only modules not the Window motor with module...

Mirror puddle lights and puddle lights installed in the interior door reflector can be for GLI as far as i know, you have to PM verebs1 he will guide you... For mirrors folding mirrors, door module and switch need to be change to get it work... Again as far as i know!!!

This helped! Thanks!

This helped me out! Thanks a lot!

I'm only doing the under door puddle lights.
Any idea if I can do the coding before I do the install? My friend that has VCDS lives a good hike away and I'm heading there this weekend. I code for him and use his software for mine!

I've found the multiple versions of power folding GLI side mirrors on aliexpress, along with the power folding mirror adjustment knob. The power folding mirrors are available with a 12-wire harness and a 6-wire harness. The north american GLI doesnt have memory seats as an option, so I'm not sure how either the 6-wire or 12-wire power folding mirrors will need to be wired into the existing harness.
