Quick question fellas and gals. I'm new to 2.0 (A3) into A2's. I'm used to a vr. But anyways, does anyone know if its possible to have a 1.8L bottom with a 2.0L (A3) top with the A3 manifold?
I've got an alt bracket issue and need to replace, but the bracket is different from A3 alt brackets.

Well, here's the thing. I bought an A2 with a 2.0L already in there (even though the wiring was like spaghetti). But anyway, a bolt snapped in the alt bracket and needs to be replaced.
I was gonna buy an A3 alt bracket from someone and sent him pics. But he told me that it was different and I needed an A2 1.8L bracket. But I've got an A3 manifold. ????????
I was at the junkyard today to pick one up from a jetta A2 w/ 1.8L stock motor. But that one was different also.

It's a 2 belt system: 1 for timing, 1 that hooks up the alt + w/p + something else.
Please lend me a hand and let me know what type of alt bracket to look for. It's because of this that my car is not on the road....
