Re: For Sale: 1997 Audi A4 1.8T Quattro 5 speed (Vortex Goderator)
Lets see, where should I start?
First off, I'm the second owner of the car, I bought it with 93,000 miles on it. The pervious owner didn't follow the break-in procedure correctly, so by 70,000 miles or so it started buring oil. The head had warped slightly and the valve guides were leaking oil into the cylinders. So the head was replaced by the dealer , it was all documented. Two months ago the transmission popped out of second gear as I was driving up a hill. It wound't stay in second gear if I was on the gas. It was diaganosed that the actual second gear was at fault. Instead of replacing just the gear (which would have been extremely labor intersive and expensive) I opted to buy a used transmission instead. The transmission that I bought had 25,000 miles on it. As far as the clutch goes, givin the fact the trans was out of the car anyway, and the clutch did have 102,000+ miles on it, only and idiot wouldn't put a new one in. Lastly the paint, exactly how many cars with over 100,000 miles have you seen that don't have any chips or scratches? Me none. I wanted my car to look new.
I think any person with a decent knowlege of cars would understand that all the work done to my car only makes it better.
