Force Induction and Cams

Okay, I have DSR 256's and Schrick VGI. I know the Z SC would work wonderfuly with that setup, and I've heard the same for AMS and Eurotech.
Now my question is, could I do a turbo with my setup?
er, to be more specific, Could I use my DSR256's with turbo kit from Matrix turbo? stage 1 and 2??
Another thing, how good is a turbo on Schrick VGI??? Would it still do me any good??

The VGI rocks nomatter what application you're running with it. Why do you think the mk4's have a VGI stock?
Yes 256's will work well with a FI app, but 264/260's have been known to work no problem in FI setups too.

If you wanna change your cams get the 248 cams. Theye are made for F/I cars

The 256s are fine for superchargers, especially the Z-Engineering setup. GIAC makes a program specifically for that. For turbo applications, the 248 is the better cam setup, because of the lack of overlap.

The Mk4 VR6s do have a Variable Geometry Intake stock. It looks different than the Schrick on the outside, but it works very similarly.
Tink, contact Jeremy at Matrix to ask him about the 256 setup with their system.

see fellas, I dont think i have the energy left to find FI cams now. cause i dont have FI, so why get cams now. I was think about Z charger. But i started looking into Matrix. So i was just wonder how good my setup will be with matrix turbo.
I think i'll most likely stick with my 256's and get them installed.

On my numerous conversations with Matrix they told me the 260/264's are one of their favorite turbo cams. Has anyone ever noticed that most japenese turbo cams are like a 272??

Have you ever looked at those Super Charger tuning books at Boarders and stuff....for all types of SC's, Paxton, Vortech, etc., etc. Each one of them claim that a SC in the range of 6-12psi are very happy with cams up to the 280 duration range.
I would just leave the stock ones in, they have proven themselves time and time again in big ass turbo motors.
Bill Schimmel went back to stock cams after trying everything that was out there, he was pushing 30+psi and over 650hp....
