Have a 96 Eddie Bauer. Need to have the exhaust replaced as well as the shocks. Shes got about 131K on the clock. Any suggestions for non OEM parts. I'm not looking for anything radical, just a bit better than stock and around the price of OEM.

Also anyone have ANY idea how to get an aftermarket radio in this thing? I have the JBL premium crap in it and i have tried every harness availible on the market NONE of them work/match.
There is one that lets me bypass the amp completely since seems to pose a problem, but you have to wire it all the way from the amp itself. I want to keep the factory amp and sub and just install and aftermarket CD Head unit. I'm Thinkning i have to hard wire it in, but dont know what any of the wires are on the second harness (the one that goes to the speakers and amp).
ANY help is appreciated as ive searched and found NOTHING.
thanks in advance

I would go with a custom exhaust or something like a Dynomax, get the aluminized one rather than SS and save 100 bucks or so. I priced out one of these exhausts a while back at like $250US, but even that was too much to spend on this POS - heh.
As for shocks, go for Bilstein or Edelbrock, I'd go Bilstein but a lot of people like the Edelbrock valving better.
Also get an Explorer Express rear sway bar, it's supposed to do wonders for the handling.
I have none of this stuff, so can't comment first hand on how any of it works.

nice...thanks
yea "wonders" would help with the suspension.
No i just wonder what the hell is wrong with it...

Re: Ford Explorer Question (Rob)

Hey, i went to explorerexpress.com, they seem to have alot of stuff.
Any ideas on whether you really need a front sway bar too or is the rear enough? They arent as cheap as i thought and since this car is predominantly a beater/commuter i dont need to spend that much on it, But i really want to improve the handling alot since now its just unsafe...There is also a ton of play in the steering.
Also anyone have any reccomendations on the bushings that should be replaced?
thanks
