Guys,
For those of you who aren't getting full charge out of your new alternators, I think I've found your problem.
First, when you purchase your new alternator, make sure that you have autozone test it for you. The first one we pulled off the shelf didn't make 13 volts.

The second one did. We put the new Alternator on the car and fired it up and drove it and still had the same frickin' problem. At this point, I knew my battery was good and my alternator was good too.
So, I started poking my head around under the hood until I noticed that belt had just a tiny bit of slack in it. The one that goes from the crank to A/C Compressor. So, I started the car, and sure enough, that belt was in there flapping around and when I went to turn on the A/C the low voltage lights came on. Bingo! I adjusted the compressor up about an inch and a half, and walla! No more charging problem.
Tornado Wolfie, you might want to find the guy who was having the same problems as me and suggest this solution to him. My problem was a combination of bad alt and A/C belt.
Thanks for all your help,
Chris
