Front engine mount leaking?

The Corrado developed a thunping noise that would increase as the speed of the car increased. So i crawled under to take a look. All i could find was this nasty grease like oil all over the bottom of the front mount. Is the ront mount full of this stuff? If so is this the cause of the thumping noise i hear and feel? This is weird. If this is the case, Can somebody turn me on to a good set of aftermarket mounts? Thanks

I have seen hydraulic mounts that have oil in them but, I am pretty sure the OEM ones are rubber. You may have a broken mount and the engine is jumping all around which caused an oil leak...
Check again.

I have the same oil. Looks pretty diffucult to confuse it with fluids from some other area. I haven't check mine yet. Let me know if you find anything.

Yeah the stock one has oil in it. It breaks pretty easy and is comman. I got a VW motorsport one but it's big bucks. There are options though. One is from ND. There are a few others out there but I can't remember from the top of my head. The VW motorsport one has lasted 5 yrs of abuse!!
