[2001pass-var]

Has anyone removed their front passenger seat? Are there any gottchas? What about the airbags, are there any issues with disconnecting the plug? I want to run speaker and RCA cables to the rear cubby hole on the drivers side in my 2001 Variant.

To my knowledge, there is a VW wiring "patch" harness for the airbags that you have to install when removing the seats to keep the airbags from firing accidentally.
Details are in the Bentley manual, though I'm sure someone here can give you the part number.

Thanks Bartnik, I figured I might get into trouble just unplugging the seat.
