Any interest in a running '84 rabbit convertible project car plus cash? I'm in the process of putting on a replacement roof and cleaning up the interior. I'm local to the Philadelphia/Bucks County area.

p.s. For what it's worth, replacing the intake fuel pump is like a 30 minute or less endeavor. You could probably make life a lot easier for selling it, but getting it at least running. Pull the rear seat cushion up, open the pump hatch, swap pump and reinstall seat cushion.

Seems like a deal to me. If you had pics of the undercarriage, people would be willing to travel farther to snatch this up. There are too many of these that look nice and shiny up top and are a rusted out disaster underneath.

No trades, if I wanted a project I already have this one.

Not allowed to do any mechanical work at the storage unit. The new owner came out and hassled me when I hooked up a battery to see if it would fire up. Turned over but that was it.

I'm going over there tomorrow to spin the coilovers up all the way. Need to do this to get it on a trailer anyway. Should be able to get some pics then, going to take some lights w/ me.

I got this car in a convoluted trade for my MKIV four years ago and it’s been in storage, indoor, ever since. Life has gotten in the way, kids have a habit of doing that, and I’ve realized that I will never do anything w/ it. The car came to me in a non-running state and it’s still this way. Was told it needs the in tank fuel pump but never got around to replacing it. I do have the fuel pump which will be included w/ the sale.

I’ve done my best to take pics of the current state of the car. I’m unable to roll it back into the unit by myself so pics had to be taken w/ it inside. It’s been under a car cover the entire time. It’s essentially in the same state I received it in just a little dustier. It has very little rust, and not just for a North East car. There is some paint bubbling at the bottom of the windshield but it’s very minimal as you can see in the pics. The underside of the car shows its age but there is little rust, not able to get any good pics of it.

Here is what I know about the car. It’s all the details that were given to me.

What is this hiding in the upper left in picture 3?
That was my old MKIV that I traded for the MKII. Got screwed over by countless shops and it had a lot of bad memories and tens of thousands of dollars that the shops basically stole from me.

The MKII is back from the shop, after many months, and is up and running. Had them go through and fix anything that was going to be an issue to reliability. Currently running at 8# of boost for shake down. Did not want to risk anything by throwing a ton of boost into it. It had a 30# spring in it originally. It’s been tuned and I’ve put about 100 miles on it so far.
