I just bought my first bunny and when you shut the car off the fuel pump keeps run I have to disconnect the bat everytime i park it.
Any tips I don't want to rig it with a switch in the car i'd like it to work right

Your fuel pump relay is faulty. You simply need to swap in a new one. You can buy one here for really cheap. It is aftermarket but I've been running it in my rabbit (old one in the trunk) for the last 6 months with it working perfectly the whole time.

You may be able to pull one from the junkyard and use it until you get a new one. you also may be able to get one from the auto parts store.

Does the fuel pump start running when you reconnect the battery? If so, someone has removed the fuel pump relay and installed a jumper wire in its place.
If the fuel pump does not run when you reconnect the battery, then the fuel pump relay is faulty as this relay is picked by "pulses" from terminal #1 of the coil.
Consequently when the engine is turned off, the pulses from the coil stop and the relay opens up to cut off the +12VDC to the fuel pump.
