Elaborate on what type of guage you are using. If it is an LED style unit, although great when used as a warning for pegging rich or lean, should not be used as a tuning guide.

Do Not make adjustments to you car based on the readings of one of these gauges. If your car is starting to have issues (Misfiring, etc...) It is good to help determin whether the problem is fuel or spark, but that is about it. If you want an Air/Fuel gauge you can tune with, you will need to aquire a wideband O2 sensor style set-up.
Here is the one I use.
