Re: FuelSaver device?? (d(-.-)b)

$90 for two?
think it works?
here are my calculations:
assuming these current stats:
tank size: 12.5 gal / tank
gas price: $2.30 / gal ($28.75 / tank)
consumption: 22.4 mi/gal (280 mi /tank)
cost: 10.26 cents / mi
with the fuel saver:
avg benefit: 20% more milage (56 mi more / tank)
consumption: 26.88 mi/gal (336 mi / tank)
cost: 8.55 cents / mi
savings: 1.71 cents / mi
4500 cents / (1.71 cents / 1 mi) = 2631 mi
must drive 5263 mi to save $45
from then on, you save $5.75 / 336 mi (or per tank) , or 21 cents a gallon
not bad...

Re: FuelSaver device?? (klee)

I believe that the 2631 mi should be the number hightlighted in your particular case (your car only needs one) and that it should read must drive 5263 mi to save the total invested $90.
The last figure is somewhat confusing because it will still cost you the same amount to fill your tank $28.75 (ie you won't see the savings on the pump as dollars per tank). I think the better conclusion would be that you save 1.71 cents / mi.
Considering that they have a full refund (as long as you send it back with the packaging) I am going to try it.
I will try and post my results here both for my Jetta and for my '74 Jeep J10, 360ci, 4" lift, 33" tires, around 4,500 GVW.

$90 for magnets?!

Go to a craft store and buy a couple of magnets and stick them on so they are oppossing each other (pushing away).
Same concept, just a lot cheaper.

I will try both and if the magnets work well, I will post that too. I can always return the savers for a full refund.

Seems like a scam to me? I mean why wouldn't car manfacturers throw in $90 magnets if they really worked.
The MPG is a huge factor for most people when buying a car, and for $90 if it was real, it'd be in by now.
