I remember driving a few of those and running them like a semi truck playing with all the gears from the twin-stick. Very confusing, but alot of laughs.

My sister had a red one , an 86 if I am correct. It was a blast to drive but had tons of torque steer. Hammer it off the line and it was a wrestling match especially if the road wasn't straight.

It has 2 shifters, one that goes through 1-4 and another that changes the final ratio (essentially giving you 8 gears). They're a blast. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

I've read about the Mitsu cars with twin-sticks. Never seen one though.
Does anyone have better pics than the ones associated with the auction? He doesn't even show the console with the two sticks!

I learned how to drive (and later totalled) on one of those twin stick colts.
it was pretty sweet having a 2 speed reverse available, not to mention being able to shift 1-2-2

If you like this ,you would have loved the Fiat Uno Turbo.It looks better has more room,handles better and is faster.It has a 1.4 liter turbo with 114 hp. Never available in the states.
My mom had an Omni and I would be a little scared to drive that thing with more than 130 hp on tap.Second worst car I've ever driven.Of course I realize the turbo had different suspension settings as well.
Personally I'd rather turbo a Beetle.

A cool car, and right in my backyard, but that example looked royally trashed, and that's why I didn't bid. It may be rare and Japanese, but that doesn't preclude that specific example from being a mess.

It has faded paint, but it didn't look that trashed overall. Especially for a 15+ year old car in the NE...

Considering how rare these cars are, that example is not bad at all. Definitely needs a new paint job and better wheels and tires, but the body looks pretty straight. Plus the interior is the more desirable (and rarer) grey color, as opposed to the ugly burgundy that the majority came with.
