Here is a overview; of removing various vw plugs, connectors and should give you an idea, on how to remove them. Your specific connector is not shown but hopefully, you can figure it out. From what I have seen; the pink, other colored inserts; are typically unlocked, using a pick or small screwdriver, then you can remove the terminals. Because, of age, heat in the engine compartment; many, of these plugs, small pink plastic locks or inserts, will easily break, as they are fragile but you can buy new ones, from your local VW dealer.
