well i took my amp out to hit the strip..and now i cant get it to stay on. It turns on for about 5 seconds, then blows my 30amp fuse. i changed the ground twice, and checked all the wire from the engine bay to the amp itself (Alpine v12)...anyone have any ideas?

Re: fuse keeps blowin on my amp... (M4vrick)

Well, first of all,a bad ground will not cause a fuse to blow.I don't care who tells you different,it can not happen.
Okay.Obviously something is now different since you took out the amp, then put it back.Look at the barrier strip terminals and see if there is a piece of wire shorting out between continous 12v and ground. If that's not it,then try these 2:
(1)Take an ohm meter and check the speaker impeadance.
(2)If the speakers look good, then disconnect the power form the amp.Take the ohm meter and check the impeadance between the + and - power inputs. If you see 0 ohms or something else that's pretty small, then the amp is shot.

yea, i've checked to see if the grd and 12v is touching, but saw nothing, especially since the rmt turn on is inbetween the two
