FYI - Check your MotorTrend Magazine... New GOLF/GTI MK-V pictures-

Okay guys, there has been a whole lot of speculation on what the New Golf will look like. Well if you go get a copy of MotorTrend Mag. You will get a glimpse of what VW is doing, they have a full page article on it. With pictures. Looks to be going upscale. I have been checking Motortrend.com but they havent updated their web page with the pictures and article in their magazine. Just an FYI...
Update : Okay buy the new Motortrend with the Mustang on the front. Its within the first 30 pages It is a whole 2 pages dedicated to the New Golf. By the way. On the next page they have confirmed that the new CIVIC TYPE R will come to the states when the INTEGRA TYPE R comes. And dont buy the issue that says Feburary, buy the one that says March. The magazines run 1 month ahead.... Check it yourself

i hope upscale leads to high sales with my 1.8t being more performance orinated then the new V's
i wish they went bare bones again. no frills no leather no monsoon no moon roof. LSD and some real suspension...for the same price. ill pay 20k for no leather but LSD and no moonroof and a real suspension and wheels and sways. wouldnt you...im not asking for the world and expect it to be cheap. i just want a compact hot hatch like they said with a warenttee (pre 2002)

They should have a GLS with all performance options standard and all the luxo stuff as options, and a GLX luxury model. Then if u want the bare bones all out performance u can have it. I like the idea of a stripper light weight GTI, but i doubt id want to drive it in the real world every day, my butt is used to heated leather. Which ever way VAG goes with the GTI, PLEASE GIVE US A REAL SUSPENSION. The sport suspension in our Mkivs is absolutely embarassing to the owner and to the heritage of the car. my .02

I saw that article yesterday. Seems they're bringing over the A3 too. What's that all about? VW is going upscale w/ the golf, yet they're bringing over the A3 at the same time?
Looks like there's no engine upgrades either. Same hp in both the 1.8T and the VR6. Maybe they'll be nice enough to drop a competent suspension in it, and make it a great GT. Then again, maybe monkees will fly.

After reading a previou spost about the same topic I went
out and bought the 2002 February Issue of Motor Trend.
After looking in the whole magazine i Found nothing of the sort,
dealing with the MKVGolf. Just a small article on the W12 Supercar.
Could someone post what issue this is in. I already wasted $3.49 on a piece
of crap mag, Dont want to make the same mistake again.

It's somwhere within the first 30 pages or so. Basically, you'll have to hunt for it. It should say something in the table of contents though. It's NOT a feature. It's under one of their regular headings.
