I got a cherry G-60 Block from a friend, I am going to turbo my Caddy utilizing this block, but the block did not include the alternator bracket, nor any waterpump housing. My question is, can any A-2 items fit on that block, for I have an A-2 at home and I can use the Alternator, waterpump etc, etc.
Thanks in advance

Re: G-60 Short Block Question (Hakaida)

I believe all 1.8 blocks have the same mounting points......the only difference is the G60 block has the oil return hole for the G60 drilled out. You'll just need to plug the hole and your set.

Re: G-60 Short Block Question (VWCORADO)

Hakaikda, Ditto what VWCORADO says. Plus you'll need to get the plate that blocks off behind the charger mount -- easily available at any junk yard (I think it used to be for a mechanical fuel pump on way older cars). The beautiful thing is you can use all A-2 pieces for the accessory drives and avoid the expensive G-60 pieces like the alternator and A/C compressor (do you need power steering? think about that). The G-60 block is an excellent choice for turbocharging because is has the piston oil squirters and improved coolant flow around the end of the number one cylinder. Sounds like a cool project! Have fun, Rich
