Hay gang,
I was wondering if you could help me out with this. I had a BOV on my car before, but I didn't want to mount it the same way, because I was using a cheap rubber plumbing connector that couldn't handle the pressure and it would blow holes in itself.
What I had done was chopped the boost return pipe down to where the ISV goes into it (I have a boost check valve, not an ISV re-route). I added a crankcase breather, and then I had a rubber 2" to 1" reducer coupling and attached the BOV there.
I need a more solid way to connect the BOV to my boost return pipe. Also, if i decide to eliminate the boost return pipe all together, I'm wondering where to route my ISV. (I saw someone in here who re-routed this, but I don't recall where or how).
I DO NOT want to mount the BOV on my IC pipes!!!
The other thing I was thinking was...what if I capped off the boost return pipe with a plastic disc and some JB Weld, then cut a hole and mount the BOV in the tip of the boost return pipe? You think this would work?
Honestly, the 2" to 1" coupling would work fine if i could find a tough silicone hose rather than the cheap plumbing stuff.
Ideas? Opinions? Let's hear 'em! I'm putting her back together in a week, so I don't have much more time to buy my parts! Thanks guys! http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

Re: G60 guys...need help attaching a BOV, any ideas? (SSj4G60)

I don't want to cut into my upper IC pipe at all. It looks bad, and combined with an ISV re-route, there's 4 places for boost to leak if a hose clamp works loose.

I didn't cut into the pipe, just the hose after it, it's a little tight in that area but you just have to make sure that all the clamps are on nice and tight.
good luck http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

JOE...
Yours is welded on though, correct? My BOV is plastic, not steel. Also, the in/out pipes on the BOV are 1". I would need to run a reducer pipe of some sort to decrease the diameter of the TB return outlet. I think I'll just try to source the reducer pipe a friend of mine had on his turbo. I couldn't find it before and he couldn't remember where he got it, but I'll give ATP a call. They might be able to point me in the right direction. Thanks guys!
PS - One week until the BeAsT iS BaCk!!! http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

I'm doing 15psi, but it'll freaken pish even when my gauge reads 0.
and to everyone else, just do it the way I did, it's the easiest and doesn't cost much after you have the BOV. All you need is a custom welded T pipe like this bellow.

and it also won't hurt to look @ this http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=219347

Actually, my way is easier and cheaper. not to mention, I'm not losing boost at purge because I don't have the BOV on the boost intake pipes...it's mounted to purge the re-routed air, not the INCOMING air.
This is why I didn't want the BOV there.
Not to mention, in case something goes wrong with the BOV (diaphragm blows, etc), you'll lose all your boost. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
I'll post pics of mine in a week or two.

Doesn't a BOV open when it there is vacuum in the intake manifold caused by the throttle shutting?
If so both setups should be about the same as far as retaining boost.
Please correct me if I'm wrong.
Llew.
BTW. Blitz BOV. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif I luv the sound of those.
