Re: g60 head swap (socialistpete)

There isn't a ton of difference between the heads. The G60 head has sodium filled exhaust valves and a different cam, but that's about it. It will bolt right up and will not change your compression either.

Re: g60 head swap (socialistpete)

I'm in the process of a similar setup, one thing to keep in mind. What fuel system are you currently running? If you are running Digi now, you'll be fine. If you are running CISE, you may run into a problem with the injector cups.
CIS and Digi heads have the same thread to screw the cups into, however, the hole diameter under that for the injectors are different. CIS holes are much larger to accomodate a two piece injector cup and the Digi head has a smaller hole for the injector with a one piece cup. The Digi cups are plastic and can be a PITA to remove, the CIS cups are brass and easy to unscrew.
Another difference is that CIS injectors are air shrouded, which means there is a vacuum line attached at the rear of the head to pull air around the injectors, Digi is missing this vacuum hose. I've been told there is no problem with running CIS injectors without the vacuum.
With that being said, I'll keep an eye on this thread to see if anyone can expand on this for me....
