It's doing really well. I'm very pleased with it. It's a nice subtle stance, just the way I wanted it. Shocks and struts are good and tight. I can feel the road a lot better than the 9-year old touring shocks that were on the car

Suspension looks good! What is the distance between the tire and the wheel now? After looking at my car, the distance on the driver side was 2 1/4 inches and the passenger side was 3 inches. So I'm curious as to what the drop is gonna be. lol We start suspension work tomorrow. Wheels are off and stands are on. I'm ready!!!!

Bought some progressive rate springs for the Falcon today, and a new flywheel for the truck.
Also hit up the UGA meat sale and bought $50 worth of delicious charcuterie. Bratwurst, smoked sausage, Andouille, sirloin and chuck roasts, skirt steak, and ribeyes. WOOOOOOT!!

So would it be in 'bad-taste' to wear my Georgia Tech shirt?

Re: (Neon Washer Nozzle)

As I was headed out the door I got a call from the shop where I dropped the fox off yesterday for a "Tune Up" and They want me to come down and bring my bag of "Extra" Nuts and Bolts, and they want me to explain to them exactly what kind of monster motor I have pieced together. Apparently the note I left with them is not enough.
Needless to say i will not be making the meet, But I will be a the next one WITH the fox!

Re: (MichelleRoze)

Had a great time today.
In attendance:
Me/Brian (VW Maverick)
Eric (Neon)
James (core5)
Vern (baker001). Hit and run. Had to go to Valdosta today.
Matt (97JettaGLXVR6) He will be changing his screen name soon.
And the winner of the longest distance traveled award to be with us here today: Sebastian (k33p it low). All the way from Oxford in the UK. He is actually German, which is even further away.

He has some good stories about all of his Dubs over the years. We talked of beers, the English education system, how to properly pack a suitcase when you leave the country and the ugliness of Eric's porno mustache.
We ate, hung out, looked at all of our cars and then went to the Tractor Supply Company to see all the stuff that we did not know we needed.
(By the way, is Harbor Freight Tools open yet?)
Anyway, there are worse ways to spend a few hours. The company was good, the weather was perfect, the wings were hot and the beer was cold.
Matt will post the pics soon.

For Sebastian: http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=4715307
For Eric: http://blogs.citypages.com/gimmenoise/razor.jpg
If you missed it, I feel sad for you.

Re: (VW Maverick)

Sorry I could not make it. Sounds like it was a good time. AND everyone went to TSC
I could spend Hours in there.
Talked to the guys at the shop and explained all the different parts on the car and took a bag of parts down for them to sort through. Looks like they got most of the shifter stuff worked out already!
Looks like I need a new intake Boot, and new wheel bearings but I knew that already

I decided to go pickup my boat when I left the shop and had a nice drive up to the Mtns......However....Pulling the boat UP and over the Mtns, the Trans in my Exploder decided to overheat,
As smoke started pouring out from behind my car!!! I pulled over thinking it was a blown hub on the trailer.. Not so Lucky, I had trans fluid dripping and smoke/steam everywhere
I let everything cool down a bit and decided to continue. I made it all the way home with no other problems and no more leaks from the Trans. Very Very strange.

@MichelleRoze: Glad to hear that the suspension install went well for you. How's the Bug sitting now? The spacing between the fender and the tire is about the length of the Mk4 Switchblade key.
Also, I've posted pics on my Flickr here http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
It was great meeting everyone today.

Also, here are some details on the Dyno run. It's out at Dynolab. We haven't settled on a date yet though.

Re: (VW Maverick)

I got a set of US spec Golf taillights and a Westy core support and grille for Sebastian. I never heard back from him about whether he was able to go, but we did get the parts he wanted.
We also got a taillight and a replacement for the shift rod on Zach's car that was FUBAR'd.
Zach also found an "explosive" new euro plate for his front end.

Then we went to the Super H Mart on Pleasant Hill and sampled all sorts of oddities... raw tuna and salmon, seaweed marinated in a sesame oil, kimchee, blackberry vinegar, pork dumplings, duck tongues, and my favorite... red bean flavored ice cream.

If it hadn't been Sunday, I could have bought a 6 pack of 33 beer from Vietnam, which is one I've always wanted to try but never been able to find.

Re: (Neon Washer Nozzle)

Well, I finished the suspension. Didn't take long at all. So glad I had help though. Removing the tranny mount and lifting the tranny was probably the BIGGEST pain for the suspension. Oh well. That's what I get for having an auto-tragic. Won't be much longer though, as it's not beginning to slip as well.

Not sure clearance yet...haven't measured. But here are some angle shots of the clearance just after install. Rides great...love the cornering! Can't wait to hit the dragon in a few weeks......

can't wait for it to settle a bit more. I probably dropped about 1 1/2" inches
