well etka must be messed up..... no american market mk4s have the center mounted switch.
btw, i first saw this in that thread here about a green bora 4motion that was modified.

I know it's late in the game, but anyway...
this button is use on Canadian Golf CL. This model is the cheapest golf. I think this model was not maid in USA.
the Golf CL was come with no remote key, no A/C, no anti-thief system, etc... A basic Golf for low budget.

i have 2002 mkv gti (in australia- i think euro spec) and i have my petrol button in the centre console....
