Hey everyone, just wondering if a loose gas cap will set off the check engine light? I went to a gas station on sunday, and it was MIGHTY cold here in Michigan. I think I might have not turned my gas cap until it clicked. Will this set off the check engine light or should I be investigating some other possible problems?

It does so because your car has a leak detection pump for the evaporative emmisions system which pressurizes the gas tank to 1psi to check for leaks. If it does not hold 1psi, the check engine light is illuminated.

Thank You everyone, I actually figured it out today. When I started my car up after work the light was off. Thank You everyone for replying.
I don't know if any of you are hockey fans or not, but I get to go to the Red Wings game tonight. That means
