What year MK4 headgasket do you use to swap with MK3 headgasket???
I have a 95 golf and wanted to do the swap but I'm not sure what year VR6 to get it from???
Please let me know if there is any other info I should know about this mod.

I think its only the material that makes the gasket is different. just don't use it on a turbo'd car.

Doesn't the Mk4 gasket raise compression by a little bit?

The MK4 gasket is a 3 layer metal gasket that raises compression about half a point.

ANY year Mk4 gasket will work. So you're talking 99.5+. Just tell the parts guy that you have a 2001 VR6 Jetta and you need a head gasket kit, you'll get what you want. Someone here knows the P/N I'm sure, so post it.
