Gauge Selection

My friend has a 1.8T and has room for 4 gauges ...
Which 4gauges should he get? I recommended Boost, EGT, A/F and Fuel Pressure. Does this sound logical?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Gauge Selection (Agtronic)

I would definately go with an oil temperature guage over an exhaust gas temperature guage. Probably a real oil pressure guage over fuel pressure too...

Oil? I assumed that VW engines RARELY ever had oil-related problems. He wants to run high boost later down the road too, so I thought monitoring the fuel pressure could help save the engine from running lean etc ...
Do you agree?
Re: Gauge Selection (Agtronic)

Boost, A/F, oil temp, and oil pressure
Monitoring the a/f gauge should tell you if you're running lean or not.
Oil temp will let you know when your oil is getting too hot and keep you from baking your engine.
Re: Gauge Selection (white rabbit)

egt over the air fuel any day. can tune better more precise w/ it. Ask around to get opin. on it.. But since u have room for 4, why not egt, a/f, boost, and 1 other.

Boost/Exhaust Gas Temp/AirFuel Ratio/Oil pressure

Yeah, that makes sense. I should check the fuel pressure manually, and once it's set, it should always stay the same.
