Just wondering what kind of brands some of you use and why? My choices are Autometer or VDO. Also what size gauges are best for our cars? 2 5/8's should suffice?
I know the lot of you run them so I want to know you experiences of installing them, how easy to read them and anything else in between.

Danny, are the Cobalt gauges even available yet?
I think I'll hook up with them and hope they match my Cabby lighting fairly well...

I have always went with the Autometer stuff, dunno know why either. It has been good to me, and when i needed a warrenty problem, i took it to the local Atuometer dealer and they just swapped it out no questions asked.

What gauges do you have? Oil PSI? Boost? A/F? How did the install go? Did u have them mounted in the cup holder area or elsewhere?
Thanks,

I've been told that VDO boost gauges are only good for bleeding the brakes.

A friend started out with a VDO boost gauge and ended up with an Autometer. The Autometer is actually better built than the VDO in terms of materials and craftsmenship. It also doesn't buzz and hum under boost like the VDO.
GReddy, APEX'i, and Blitz gauges are suppose to be very good. But they are damn pricey. I have a hard time justifying paying that much for gauges.
I got a sweet deal on some SPA gauges a while back. Probably won't get installed until spring/summer. Very nice gauages.. and would go nicely with the stock interior lighting. The boost EGT gauge have been rumored to be flakey. Not sure what the real deal is.

Gauges have limit warning, peak recall, and other features.

Nice gauges! They look very slick and match well with our interiors. I've heard a lot about SPA gauges - read about them all the time in TURBO MAGAZINE. I'm going to check them out. Thanks for the lead http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

No prob.
If you do get a SPA boost/EGT gauge, make sure they send you the right thermocoupler. They have a tendency to send the wrong one. Ask for the steel braided one. The wrong one they send out is plastic and meant for diesel motors. It'd melt in our cars.
