I might be in.........however you should try to get the price down a bit! Anyone know of any other companies that sell a kit like this? Maybe we could create some friendly competition and drive this price down a little more
im definitely interested,i'll be cutting it close on making the deadline a have alot of projects going on but i have been waiting for this to happen .drums with the wilwoods just aint right
Sounds good but give us some slack on that deadline! I'm impatient as the next enthusiast but I have to pay for my own stuff along with other bills and at least a months time would be nice for these multi-hundred dollar buys.
K - I checked with Tom on this one and he has no issues with pushing the date back, so I have left the ending date open untill we can confirm definate buyers. So if your in, please give Tom a Call at ECS he can be reached at 800 924 5172 just mention the Vortex Rear Converstion GB
im assuming this is for the a3 cars rite?...this may be a dumb question but will it also work on an a2 90 jetta???...cuz my bros been lookin for rear disc conversion, if it does work, or if they have one for the same price, http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

I do believe there is only a kit for the A3 - however I will check up on this just to confirm.
Will this work if you have ABS? I called ECS and the guy there didn't even believe that some Golf had ABS AND rear drums, which my car has...nice guy but didn't give me the warm and fuzzies that would make me want to buy something from the U.S., ship to Canada only to find that it won't work on my car for whatever reason.
Hey Pagano,
Did Tom mention if the GB price would be the same for 5-lug rear rotors?
Also, would anyone be interested in a GB of a 5-lug rear disk conversion *and* their front 5-lug conversion (hubs & bearings), with stock sized rotors drilled to 5x100? I actually emailed Tom earlier in the week, and he said they'll soon have stock sized rotors drilled to 5x100, making a complete 5-lug conversion with all brand new OE parts pretty inexpensive...
People seem to want to wait on this a bit, and ECS seems to be a good place for a lot of us to drop some dough...

does it include a new parking brake cable? IIRC the ebrake cable is different between drums and rear discs.

Go to... http://www.ecstuning.com/vwpartsspecialpage.htm it says..
"-New rotors (either 4-lug or 5-lug) & pads
-New calipers & carriers
-New stub axles, bearings & seals
-New parking brake cables & brake lines
-ATE super blue brake fluid"

KeithVH thanks for posting that. This kit is complete....You will have EVERYTHING to swap your drums to a 4 lug or a 5 lug rear disc.

Give it time I'm sure people will jump on. I too got off the phone with him a few hours back and asked about the 5 lug conversion for the front in addition to if you want the 5 lug rear for your 4. He said that he is working on custom 9.4" rotor design so all that needs to be upgraded is the rotor (and pads) while everything else can remain the same, because to upgrade to a 5 lug in the front would mean going bigger then 9.4 and can tend to get a lil $$
