I have the Genie header on my car- the flexible flange thing at the bottom of the downpipe is broken beyond repair. The header itself is perfectly fine. Anyone know where I might be able to find a replacement? I am not sure if the flange that ATP sells for their turbo is the same or not(they serve the same purpose). Anyone know anyone that sells Genie headers? Anyone know how to contact Genie directly? Thanks- I'm like berries(in a jam

Re: Genie header problem. (kingofA2`s)

It looks like this:

but with a flange on either end- one that bolts to the Genie downpipe and one that bolts to the cat. I imagine I could make one if I had to- I was trying to aviod any real battle with getting this part because I plan on going turbo soon anyway. Anybody else with info/comments? All are appreciated. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

quote:

You might want to just try a muffler shop, they could make you one no problem http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif plus then you don't have to look all over

What he said
they have helped me before. Do you have a pic of the header not on the car?

Unfortunately I don't have a pic of the header off the car. How much did you guys pay when you had the piece made? I'll look around and see what I can find for parts. The piece I posted was the ATP part...

Good luck getting the part new, you can't even get gaskets for the headers anywhere. Support for Genie in the US is nearly nil. I'd suggest going to a muffler shop with the broken one and asking if they'd be able to repair it or make a replacement.
Even better would be a ball and socket style flex joint, just make sure all the tubing is 2.5". Good luck in your quest.

Re: Genie header problem. (need_a_VR6)

Just talked with EIP- no how, no way, no more. Genie has pulled out of the US market.
Maybe I should sell this thing...(calling ATP tomorrow to order the Flex Section, Braided, SS, 2.5" diam x 6" long
Part Number: EXH-96 List Price: $38.) My welder and I will try to take care of this.

DieGTI,
This guy will take care of you, Joe Gill, at JAGCO Industries. You can reach him at 800-288-2626. It is almost impossible to get replacement flanges for the Genie headers, but Joe can repair it to where it looks completely new again. It shouldn't cost more than $100.
It is NOT easy to repair that woven stainless steel. Very time consuming. I believe it takes them about 3-4 days to finish the flanges. Good luck!
