My blau crapped out on me. Something got fried in the cd loader. I'm willing to try a repair but am wondering if anyone has good things to say about 'Midwest' which is linked to the Blau. site or if you have had any success elsewhere. The place where I purchased from deals with the 'Sevice Dept.' which is in Tacoma.
This is my second deck in 14 months, the first being replaced under warranty.
I'm still like the deck alot but this is getting silly.
thanks, thomas

I hate my Blau. When i turn it up(past 36) and listin to a little bass it dimms and starts to skip and it gets really hot plus the cd does not come out every time....Its the Honalulu (however you spell it)

It's a cd-50 heide. I bought the first one in sept.00 and got it replaced about 7 months later, about the same with the replacement although different malfunctions on each. I suppose it'll go to midwest and after that get put in the summer car. I figure if its only used 3-4 months out of the year it'll last longer.
The last deck i bought was a clarion 8825 which was 13 years ago and it still works great.

Thanks, Thomas

I don't understand everyones choice of Blaupunkt as a receiver. They are far from the best decks. Go for an Eclipse or Nakamichi for the best sound quality and you'll be amazed at the quality over your Blau--not only that, but it won't break on you.

Re: getting a blau repaired... (wgreen)

Well, I guess I'll have to wait and see what's up with mien then. It's a CD-50 Honolulu. BTW, I got mine cause it's new, has a warranty, and was only $120. Plus I happen to like all the previous Blau stuff I've had. Guess we'll see what happens with this one...
P.S. Keep this post upated with your repairs. I'd like to know how things turn out in case mine bites it.
