Well, my hatred for the orange sidemarkers has taken a turn for the irrational. I was at my wit's end; not wanting to pay $90 for clearcorners, trying to make my own and failing miserably, suspecting the gleaming orange reflectors would soon spell my doom.
So I spray-painted them silver.
But wait, what's this? Is it me (it could be me) or do they actually look pretty good? Discuss...
Looks good but they're not functional. What I used for mine is the tinted plastic from a rock/bug shield off of a truck. Looks Awsome! It blends in with the car now and they're still functional... I think that would look really good on your car, especialy since it's black.
hey kidcorrado...do you have a striaght on shot of the back of your car? i have a red C and was thinking about tintin the lights...wanted to see how it looks before i do it. thanks
Painted mine glossy black, and I think it looks a tad better -- but only on dark cars. Yeah, they're not functional, but I am adding Audi A4 sidemarkers in the authentic "euro" location -- right in front of the door.
V arrrr Six: bling bling? Am I a rapper guy now?
Corrado4Life: Mine were never functional. Not sure why; if it was the bulbs or the connection or what. But more importantly... do you have pics of this rock/bug shield application of yours? Sounds interesting. What color is the tinted plastic?
Iceman666: My car is green actually. And this wasn't planned. I had some "chrome" paint (turned out to be silver as you can all see) to paint the backs of the light covers I was cutting. When that project went horribly awry I couldn't bear to reinstall my orange ones so I took a chance and started painting.
CorradoKidd: Yeah, I shaved the handles, molding and badges about six months ago. I wanted to shave the sidemarkers too but the guy was really not into it. He said it was possible but would cost A LOT more because of the material of the bumper being plasticy making the job a real hassle. I wouldn't have minded some extra money but what troubled me to the point of dropping it was that he just seemed like he *really* didn't want to do it for some reason. Anyway, since then I've considered taking it somewhere else and having them do it. Still might.
B(C)orrado, benzivr6, Davidss: Thanks!
Kid Corrado,
How many sets of wheels do you go through in a year man?! You've got three nice sets of rims...all very cool and unique. Jut curious as to which set you liked best and why? I've got the MM Spyders too, but your last set look sweet!
