I just purchased a 2019 GLI Autobahn with the DSG and I love it but I want to get a little more out of it. Has anyone used a pedal commander in theirs? Does it make enough of a difference to justify the cost?
The sluggish feel of the GLI is torque limiting in first and second gear (its not cutting throttle, its cutting spark AFAIK). Im not sure that you can correct that with a peddle commander. If you want the most sporty feel while stock on the DSG, disable ESC (to the right of your shifter) and switch over to manual mode. Mods like a turbo inlet pipe and a turbo muffler delete cost about as much as the peddle commander and i am sure they will have a greater impact on the responsiveness of the car.
