Hi all,
I have finally started installing my mk4 lights for my 1996 Golf GL.
Everything seems to be fitting alright, but I do have several questions.
1) What are the wires on the original harness? On the passenger's side, there is a white yellow and brown. On the driver's side, there seems to be the same except with stripes through them. Which is the high, which is the low, and which is the ground?
2) Do I have to cut anything off the actual lights? I read somewhere to cut the pegs off, but the fitment is still kinda weird. Seems like its too deep to fit (I cut out the rad-support piece already) Any tips would be great.
Thanks for any help Texers,

This site rocks!

Re: Golf 3 Headlight Wires (meatypopsicle)

On German cars, brown is always grounds. Why? Brown is earth color, and grounds are also called earth

I believe white is low beam and yellow is high beam, but dont quote me on that.

Ooh.. so I was kinda correct.
Can anyone confirm Perl's guess on the wiring? I don't wanna blow anything!
