• Anniversary model to mark the 40th birthday of the Golf GTI
  • This sporty icon will thrill you with its 265 PS and extremely dynamic character
Marking the 40th birthday of the Golf GTI, Volkswagen has given this sporty icon its own anniversary model: the Golf GTI Clubsport. A car for true GTI fans with some refinements, including its expressive design and its handling qualities. The Golf GTI Clubsport can be ordered at German Volkswagen dealerships now. Prices start at €36,450.

The new Golf GTI Clubsport* follows in the tradition of other anniversary models, as Volkswagen also honoured the Golf GTI with exclusive special editions for its 20th, 25th, 30th, and 35th birthday. The Golf GTI Clubsport is the most powerful production GTI to date with 265 PS / 195 kW. That is far from all, however: for a short time – for about 10 seconds each time – the driver can increase engine power to over 290 PS using a boost function. This added power is activated by kicking down the accelerator.

Volkswagen is offering the Golf GTI Clubsport equipped with a six-speed dual-clutch gearbox (DSG) for the sales launch. This engine-gearbox variant accelerates to 100 km/h in 6.3 seconds using just 6.9 litres per 100 kilometres. The interplay of a new front splitter and the also-new rear spoiler produces optimum aerodynamic downforce. This results in excellent handling even at high cornering speeds.

The design of the GTI Clubsport has been sharpened thanks to an all-new front bumper with wide lateral air inlets, a new rear diffuser and a multi-part roof spoiler. In addition, the GTI Clubsport comes with 18-inch wheels in "Belvedere" design as standard. Among the interior highlights are the motorsport bucket seats in GTI design as standard and alcantara multifunction steering wheel with GTI emblem, red stitching and red
12 o'clock marking.
