Is this possible without a hood swap or grille spoiler? I talked to someone who insists it is... and a friend of mine is swapping his Mark IV lights for smoked ones so i'd be able to pick his up for $250...
Any Pics ? they would be appreciated...

I know potterman used to carry a spacer to fit with the factory golf grill to allow you to run MK3 Jetta hood with MK3 Golf Styled lights...I couldn't locate it on the web page but if you call him or drop an email I am sure he can help you out.
S/F carries it as well, but they require you to purchase the grill, spacer, and lights from them.

i dont think you can put teh real MK4 lights on a MK3 car ... but if you want to get MK3 lights then you WILL have to change teh hood and grille. otherwise they wont fit. the spacer he is talking about is used for when you dont have a European rad support. when you have one liek i do, teh lights go right in, where on the american rad support they have to be somewhat "modded" to fit. hope thsi helps ..

why wouldn't u be able to put the real mK IV lights in a Mk 3? Doesn't make much sense to me

you can put the real things in, you just need a kit strictly for the real ones... it think his point was that they won't fit the conditions you specified

thank you ... the REAL MK4 lights off a MK4 will not fit, due to its a diffrent shape. MK3 Mk4 look lights will fit.

who said you can't fit them!! Check out this pic. Ok I know you still need some modification like swapping to a mk3.5 cabrio hood and modify a little bit your grill.

you can put mkiv headlights in but you have to take mkiv cabrio fenders and hood and grill and front bumper.

Are you blind man!!! Did you look at this picture!! You don't need to change the bumper and the fenders. This guy did it !! The only thing is to modify your grill a little bit!! If your good with bodywork, it will be easy!!
