Golf Questions!!!!!

hi everyone..
i have placed an order for a Golf 2.0 (i know its not the 1.8T or GTI..but $$$$ is a little low)..anyways, I have two questions:
1) I have heard some horror stories of people and their new Golf's. Anyone here heard of the samething?
2) How long does it usually take to get it in (my dealer, who's a %[email protected]!$ prick...said "not long" (I got the GLS, cold, and luxury package)....

Ignore the horror stories, most VW's are perfectly fine. You just never read anyone saying positive stuff

Did you had the dealer write the ETA ? So you can back out of the deal.

a few weeks???? MAN..i dont know if i can wait that long...everytime i c a golf on the road, i just sit there and stare...I'd like to get it before the snow starts coming down...

os, i didnt ask the dealer for the ETA..i guess i should have maybe..but the way he was talking he made it seem like it would just be several days..So, I hope he's not lying!!!

2.0mmmmmmmm....... not that much ponies.... but still looks much better than the hondas ....solid engine. solid car..... hahahaha welcome to da dub world...
now, start to save up........ and mod the sh*t out of the 2.0..... hahahhaha

My 2.0 has been pretty good. I got it in August and at 1100 miles the ABS light came on, not a major problem but it took the dealer a month to fix it. They also replaced the serp. belt because it was making noise. The dealer said that he couldn't hear the noise and that there was nothing wrong with it but would replace it because there was a tech bulletin about it. Once replaced the noise was gone but after a week or so it was back. Other than that I love it, just keeping my fingers crossed.

Hey, I'm in the same boat as you... only I am going to break myself if I get it. I tell ya what, driving a campus transit bus is fun, but any on campus job don't pay beans

Question 1 is too vague and can apply to any other car, not just the Golf.

all depends upon how high of a volumn dealership they are. They should be able to see cars coming down the line to them.
I had to wait 3 months but I got a TDI.
normal 2.0 golfs are slightly more commong but not much.

To be perfectly blunt, if your dealer is a prick now, what's he gonna be like when you own the car and he's not making any more money off of you? Always be smart when you're spending that kind of $$ no matter what you're getting (we all know how Veedub is reliable, but there's always exceptions). See if there are any other veedub dealerships in your area that are willing to treat you better, and might have a better selection of Golfs (hey, get a TDI if your $$ is a lil tight- you'll save a mint in gas and they're pretty affordable!)

u have a good point...this dealer is actually not going to be the one i will most likely be dealing with (its about 30 minute drive from my house, and there are 2 with in 5 minutes)..but eventhough he's a prick, the reason i went to him is because i got my Golf at approximatley $3000 LESS then the retail value. Basically, I payed the dealer price plus a $500 mark-up..That's a pretty good deal, but i had to buy it from a jackass....eventhough the salesman at the VW dealership beside my house was cool...

another question..what's the deal with the CD player on the 2002 Golf's...its supposed to b included in the GLS model, but my dealer told me that some dont have this...he "assured" me that mine WILL have it but i really dont trust that guy. r there any 2002 GLS owners that got their cars without the CD player?
