Total PITA. You need extensive body work to fit them correctly.

Those are home blacked out lights. I'm positive. It's a sheet over the top of the actual lens. Gross. You should look into a set from RPI or TMTUNING if you want it to look good still. BTW: That listing on Ebay wasn't very informative. Just said they fit all A2 Jetta's and that the functions remain normal. Too bad he didn't list wether they were home made or not for sure.

fitting golf tails actually isn't that hard, you only need to mod the trunk, the sides fit

Fitting golf tails on a Jetta is a lot of time, work and money. I'm having it done to my car and it involves alot of welding and cutting. The Golf tails are a little longer on the sides then the jetta so it had to be cut out and fitted into place. Its costing me about $1200 to have the golf tails fitted and to have the rear end (license plate part between the lights) of a golf welded on the trunk along with a custom piece for the lecense plate. I'm supposed to get my car back tuesday so i'll post up pics.
