So I just got home from dinner after hacking out a deal with my salesman. I got them down to $500 over dealer invoice...I am really happy to have made the decision about going ahead and buying my new car now. If I had waited till spring I would have had to get: new tires, my stupid check engine light fixed, new suspension and I would have paid about 2 to 3 thousand more. And there is a possibility of no GLX with the new model (like all of you have heard). So I took the plunge and I am already thinking about supercharging it with the made up money (which should smoke the new motor then anyway!) Anyway just thought that I would tell you guys about my experience "flame me" if you will, but if you are on the fence then it's time to buy! I think that today being the end of the month really helps too. My salesman said that they can count this as a sold unit so to VW it puts them one ahead for November.
I wanted to get a GTI VR6 at first, but there were none with the color combonations and from two different dealerships they told me no more were being produced till April. So I got the last Galactic Blue / Beige leather with Northeast emissions out of Boston in a 5 speed. If anyone else is wanting one don't wait they will be gone soon. I think that the Jetta GLX in a standard transmission is end-of-lifed...so buy one if you can!
Thanks love the site...fire up those group buys!!!! It's mod time!!!
