my car will be slammed soon and my stock Goodyear POS Eagles are getting worn so i would like to do the drop and tires at the same time
what are some really good tires i can get for my stock 14 inch wheel -- good in wet and dry and decent tread life -- and not EXTREMELY expensive

I believe that the Dunlop SP Sport 8000 comes in a 195 55 14.
This is a slightly lower profile tire than stock. Basically you would be travelling a tiny bit slower than indicated on your speedo.
For 195 60 14's there is very little wrth looking at. BFG Comp T/A's aren't too bad for an all season.

falken azenis sport look pretty good to me, but they are not for all season use. They are a dry weather tire and I am thinking about putting a set on steels for weekend/track use next summer. They are availiable in 195.55r14

Dunlop SP Sport A2s. I LOVE these tires. They grip so nice, better than my Falken 205/40 17s. The Dunlops are mounted on my stock 14s, and I think they are wonderful. They are also all-season, and I can say that they tackle the snow and slush pretty decently.

yokohama A520'S are definativly the best tire for the price!
oh yea, after getting my wheels with A520's, it wasent even a 10X better scenario than the BF Goodrich's, it was like 100X better!

i've got Yoko T4's...not to bad....good tires for the buck...I got them from http://www.discounttires.com check them out for some decent deals.
