I have this squeaking noise. I believe it is an okay noise on average" car.
I was however surprised to hear it on my GTi. Dealer said "this is normal". I don't know, it seems to brake ok, so I don't care. It is embarassing though, since my car is the only squeaking car on the street

You know what!? ...After my first long trip abroad for work I came back and the brakes sounded like poop!! ... however, I called the dealer all scared and they said exactly what you said, and that it would go away after a day... it's "normal" on our cars when we don't drive it for a while... And... they were right! It DID go away after just a day!...
However!! This is different and it's constant!!
Oh, and now that I think about it, it's not really a squeaking... its more of a scratching sound...
