It sounds like the camshaft adjustment valve may have crapped out. This is what adjusts the cam timing between the intake and exhaust cams. Check the restance between the two pins at room temp (cold engine). S/B 10-18 ohms
The code does say it is intermitant. The valve and the tensioner/adjuster are two pieces. The tensoiner has a history of problems due to oil feed. To replace this it will require the removal of the cams. I don't know if you feel you are up to this. If it is not something you have done before I would find some help.
