finally after the hastle of figuring out why the kit was only pushing .3 bar my friend from conn. saw a little foul up with the vac hoses and now i upped it to 1.1 bar even though the chip is set for 1.2 to 1.3 bar... the turbo is sick now and with the quaife six speed and a first gear of 51 mph, the car is sick. by the way anyone doing the kit its best you buy a manual boost controller and dial it in by hand..
Re: got the atp t3/t4 ball bearing kit up and running (whizbang18T)
yeah I agree on that one... I got myself at greddy profec A on my 2.0T and I get good reliable constant boost... My turboXS manual controller was not as reliable...

quote:

How's the 6 speed? Fist gear seems a bit long if you can top out at 51 in it.
Sounds about right in a FWD car pushing 300+ hp

not always true, you dont' want the gears to be to tall especially with a turbo that is pushing the edge or too big on our tiny motors. Billy said his t3/t4 spooled up 500 rpm later then his t3 super 70. The tall gears are just gonna make it take longer, actual time wise, to spool up.
I had a 3.39 final in my car for a while, it took forever for the car to spool. Usually first gear would be shorter ifyou put in a 6spd "kit", so my guess is they also swapped out to a taller final, that seems a bit tall to me.

That's true...I was just thinking that a short first gear would be useless with that kind of power in a FWD car. Even with just my modded AWD K03, first gear is useless except at very light throttle.
Re: got the atp t3/t4 ball bearing kit up and running (dbrowne1)
well first gear is real long but the next 3 are short and the last 2 are long again, its a nice balance.. oh i live by the gwb and whats going on friday, i didnt want to break another cv this year but if a lot of 1.8t's show up i might take the trip, atco is a bit far though, also what time should i be there

Re: got the atp t3/t4 ball bearing kit up and running (nj18t)
Please give us some useful information. I mean like driving impressions, when spool-up and peak torque occur? How hard does it accelerate vs a chipped ko3? How hard was the install? Please give us more details..... http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
