I love those grey recaros some of you guys are representing, but i got my hands on some black leathers from a 16v rocco. ( not sure if its real leather ) did vw use real leather on the 16v roccos? anyway i got the front ones in and the bolsters are sweet! they hug like nuts. My question is will the rear seats fit correctly without mod? thanks.
p.s. - I eventually wanna get some red sparco's

leather bolsters might look better, but the gray recaros are definitely more comfortable.. IMO

Are they the black vinyl bolsters/cloth centers? Or all leather? Some Scirocco's did come with leather, AFAIK...
In any case, if they are the black vinyl/cloth-having an '86 GLI which recently went '92 Recaro, the newer grey Recaros are ever so much more comfy and supportive.

they are all leather. very big bolsters.

Oh, if the leather's in nice shape I'd keep those. Kinda unusual and different than all of us with the grey Recaros.

dude i love the leather.. i have the half leather and half cloth deals in my whip and they are so nice. lots of back and bulster support ecsp with a harness. and yeha the back seat goes right in casue i got mine from a jetta gli and it matched right up no problem!!

these seats are from a scirocco tho. I know the jetta's would fit but since the rocco's have a lower roof the seats might be different in the back

yeah after I sat down in the rocco front seats it was like 3 inches lower then the ones i had. they previous seats were not height adustable. these are and i love it.

I used to have a 1987 16v with the half-leather(ette) seats. Those seats rocked! They were tight, and tight is always good!

Now I got a 1992 8v with the normal 8v seats but I wouldn't mind getting those cloth reccaros in there also...

Sciroccos came in all real leather seats.. however I think the Corrado leather seats fits better with their bolsters (I don't slide around in my Corrado seats like the Sciroccos) but I think for support and comfort its hard to beat the cloth recaros http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

thats the ones, all black leather. I dont slide around at all those. the bolsters are in great shape still up and firm. They have maybe 2 or 3 tears but that can be repaired

Damn, that's the gospel for sure.
The GLI Recaros are far more firm and comfortable than my old GLI sport seats. The older 16v Recaros, with the bigger vinyl bolster (see the other recaro seat thread for a pic), are nice too but I got tired of my outer bolster vinyl cracking.

VW Recaro trivia:
Apparently the later model Recaro's (all cloth from the 2L 16V cars) got replaced late in production with a slightly wider seatback after all the complaints rolled in from "husky" customers. I just confirmed this a month ago when I sat in a friends seats and they were noticeably wider in the shoulder blade area.

I would believe that, the '92 Recaros are definitely a little more broad between the bolsters than the '86 GLI seats were.
