I have this neat-o synthetic bearing grease (Redline) and I found it's useful for a lot of things, but mostly it's for repacking bearings.
(Note: Be sure to clean ALL old grease out prior to repacking, no matter what kind you are using, and Never mix tw brands/ types.)
So, I am reassembling the Roc and using a old but unused tensioner. I got to thinking maybe it might benefit from being greased, but then I don't want it to get gummy with grit and dust.
Any thoughts?

Re: Greasing the Timing Belt Tensioner? (TBerk)

Given the importance of this piece, I'd say if it works smoothly, use it as is, if not get a new one.

Re: Greasing the Timing Belt Tensioner? (TBerk)

I thought the timing belt tensioner used a sealed bearing in which case it would be impossible to grease it without destroying it. but i could be wrong.
