has anyone else seen this.. is supposed to be better that the apex fuel controller.. and its on the group buy center for about 315.. the only prob i see with it now is its so new the software or wireharness hasn't been released yet but should be sometime in dec.. anyone that has any news on this can you shed somemore light..
here are some spec from the GPC post..
The E-Manage provides many tuning & fuel adjustment capabilities when installed and used properly.
When progressive tuning is done with various parts at different stages, like with high performance mufflers and high flow air intake elements, the fueling requirements of a vehicle (depending on vehicle make) is upset and become unbalanced.
With the installation of high performance parts, the efficiency of an engine sometimes dropped, and can be worse than the stock vehicle's engine efficiency.
The E-Manage provides optimize fuel re-adjustment tuning when the vehicle's stock fuel balance is affected or deteriorated .
It is the state of the art engine management system which provides fuel re-adjustments to extract maximum engine power from the standpoint of user friendliness, & low cost. It also provides further fine tuning with further engine enhancements & parts upgrades.
When used with the tuning software & harness kit (both sold separately), the E-Manage can extend its tuning capabilities in real time mode, and the it becomes like a sub-computer. E-manage is an inexpensive programmable fuel management system that allows you to properly tune your factory fuel system without changing the entire factory ECU system to a "stand-alone" unit. The E-mange system is a "piggy-back" type unit that will save you from wiring headaches by working with the factory ECU. This system will allow the tuner to easily control the pulse duration of factory injectors, or upgraded injectors with a built in adjustable dial. It also has a built in VTEC controller which can adjust the VTEC shift point as well as the fuel curve. An optional communication software package (PC Windows) and harness kit is available to fine tune the entire engine, from 16 additional fuel RPM points, ignition timing, larger injectors, airflow meters, injector duty cycle, and control of up to 2 sub injectors. With the use of optional communication software and a PC Windows based Lap-Top, the E-manage system will assist the tuner in data logging and real time monitoring capability.

Re: Greddy piggy back engine management.. (onequickg60)

seems alot like the UNICHIP. I was all for it, but the unichip doesnt have laptop control, and only authorized dealers can adjust it, so it would be pointless for diy. it was also $600 + $200 for installation and tuning. But if this can do it all for $300 with computer control, I would like that. I know standalone is "the" way to go, but I like the simplicity of this setup.
so when will it be available for VW's? only obd2?
Re: Greddy piggy back engine management.. (sporter)

u think it'd work with digifant 2? i was thinking of droppin digi2 in my ****te with a rising rate FPR...
Re: Greddy piggy back engine management.. (killa)

greddy is 379+about 200 for the comunication software and adapter according to [email protected] r&d.
Re: Greddy piggy back engine management.. (GTI2lo)

there is a dusty mouve 2.0L 8v turbo in Markham with this. he even has the greddy thumb control thing on the steering wheel..nice car..
Re: Greddy piggy back engine management.. (GTI2lo)

the price of 315 is through a company on the group buy center.. i recievr info today that the software and cable are only needed if you play on getting real time tuning with laptop.. but its not needed to turn the system..
Re: Greddy piggy back engine management.. (onequickg60)

charles greddy(or sobodly like that)
from greddy was on here not too long ago, and said it was only for the 1.8T engine.
whats up with that?

that guy only has the Greddy boost controller and not the e-manage system. It has not been released to the mainstream public.

Also I talk to Charles at Greddy and he said the system was universal and it wil even see boost if you hook up a map sensor that will see positive pressure.
Re: Greddy piggy back engine management.. (GTI2lo)

That little thumb button is a remote for the Profec B(boost controller) that lets you switch from high boost to low boost, or vice versa.
Also, the E-manage ECU is gonna be a plug and play type deal. You won't be able to wire it onto any car like a SDS or a Haltech.
As for why just the 1.8t, guessing it is just a matter of money, cost vs. R&D time vs. potential buyers. Myabe for other VWs in the future, but I wouldn't count on it.
Re: Greddy piggy back engine management.. (ventoGT99)

oh..that dude said he was pushing 10psi out of a KKK turbo and like 174hp at the wheels and still could only push a low 15second 1/4mile

oh ya..me just thinking off topic..shouldn't spooled be runing a 12? I know cars about the same weight FWD pushing less HP then him and running faster
turbo hyundui for one
Re: Greddy piggy back engine management.. (BlownoffGTI)

yes you will be able to put the greddy system onto your 2.0

No, I don't think you will. It is gonna come with harnesses for the 1.8t ECU, and will plug right in. I guess you could re wire everthing, but even then, it may not work.
Just read that the Guy told you it is universal... hmmm... for 300-500 bucks, this setup could make things easier for alot of people... nice.

Re: Greddy piggy back engine management.. (1.BillyT)

He was saying you have to connect to certain wires in the ecu and it will change the readings. i.e. you can recalibrate your m.a.f. to read more air etc. control injector duty based on boost. You can even control up to 2 extra injectors
Re: Greddy piggy back engine management.. (GTI2lo)

I'm sure its quite useless for those of us who run KE-Jetronic still... (cis-e)

yes, but it might work with digifant fuel injection, the cis-e can easily be swaped for digifant injection, do u guy think it'll work with digi????

Re: Greddy piggy back engine management.. (killa)

OK, so how does this apply to 1.8t people who already run chips? Do we need to get rid of the chip and run a boost controller along with it, or can we keep the chips we have already and run the 'piggy back' along with them?
damn..this would solve all of my tuning issues..

your options are severely limited with DBW cars.

Re: Greddy piggy back engine management.. (1.BillyT)

I just purchased an ATP STAGE 3 turbo kit w/ FMintercooler/ecu/260cam/APRhead studs and thicker head gasket
I bought it on vortex from David Watt, I am awaiting my pistons and rods before SWE installs it, but was interested in learning about my Greddy AIC before my mechanics told me not to touch it. It came with the kit and already has the two extra injectors installed and ready to go, the instuction manual is as thick as my Econ book, what else does this thing do
