I experience a grinding sound if i shift hard into second. It only happends if i am shifting at about 5000rpm, and aggresively down to second. I even have tried it with my clutch floored, so its not that i am letting up to early or not going down enough. Regular driving i dont experience it though. Any help?

Re: Grind into second (brandonp)

kinda sounds like a bad syncro

its a 2.0
It grinds before it actually slips into where it should be. And it only does it at hight revs and hard shift, if i do a softer shift and kind of let it slip into second it is ok. It's jsut scaring me.

Re: Grind into second (joker22942)

It is a common problem in 020 trannys.
You can change the fluiid, it will not solve the problem though.
As long as you dont keep grinding it then it will be fine.
It is the syncro, So you just have to avoid driving hard in 1st to second.
So just take it easy in 1st gear and the shift to 2nd gear, then you can go crazy.
