GROUP BUY on S3 Strut brace: Be among the first to have it!

Hi everyone. I wanna organize my first GB here. Josh at Achtuning tells me he can import S3 strut braces from europe (these are the kind that wrap around the strut tower, not just two-point fastening like the neuspeed ones) at a cost of about $72 each if there are 10 interested people. Shipping is $20.
This is the same brace used by gary handa (www.handa.tv). I'm fairly certain that since its an oem part it WONT come with instructions for mounting, or with 'nutserts' so I recommend knowledgeable or professional installation.
This suspension component will reduce chassis flex (if it didnt, why would it esist on an s3?) to some extent, but mostly it will look really cool. Plus, its OEM. For those of you thinking about buying a brace anyway, this price is very competitive with less effective aftermarket models. I don't know of anyone yet in the US who has this part on their VDub.... so be among the first.
Please voice your interest. Please also post photos of the brace if you got em! If you KNOW you want in on this sweet offer, email me your name and telephone number where Josh can contact you. Remember, don't call Josh directly, since the brace will cost $25 more if you do.
I'll post more info as I get it.

Re: GROUP BUY on S3 Strut brace: Be among the first to have it! (djsilvera)

does S3 share the same chasis as MKIVs? if so, does S3's suspension work well on MKIVs?(like springs shocks etc..)
Re: GROUP BUY on S3 Strut brace: Be among the first to have it! (helpmeplease)

for the most part is shares the same chassis. I'm not sure about springs and shocks...go with the eibach pro-system

Do the MkIV TDIs share the same chassis as the golf/gti? Basically what I'm trying to say is, will it fit my car??

1 thing.... You better make sure that this fits on a MK4 VR6 before you go shipping them to any VR6ers, because it's possible it might contact the trottle body which is quite a bit higher up than the ones on the turbos. I know the neuspeed strut tower is different on 1.8t and vr6 models because of this.
NJTDI it should fit your car.... A MK4 is a MK4..... unless it's a cabrio, in which case it's a MK3

OK, thanks for your responses. I'll post continuous lists of names I have. Remember, email me --don't just post here. I've been working hard to find a photo. Everyone please join me in bothering garyh. I've been searching for a pic of it on his site but havent found it.
Henry, I'm also concerned with it not fitting over the vr6 tb....but a pic will help us decide.

I think you asked me before.....hmmm...D&B, huh? ever heard of mocean worker?
Anyway, this is the best I can do right now. This is an unedited screenshot of my visit to garyh's website. Note the distorted shot of the engine bay with the strut brace barely visible. Think that'll clear the tb?

Re: GROUP BUY on S3 Strut brace: Be among the first to have it! (Zuber Speed)

OK, without nutserts and all the hardwares like the stuff come with other aftermarket bars, how exactly do you install it? It's obvious some holes have to drilled since it wraps around the strut towers, but how do you attach it? The good old bolts and nuts?
Re: GROUP BUY on S3 Strut brace: Be among the first to have it! (ryan888)

ttt...

16v racer, if you're in, please email me you phone number and name so Josh can call you if this goes through.
oh, and the installation hardware should consist of nuts, bolts and washers as you ould expect. I believe that each side of this brace needs three holes, rather than the two that normal braces use.
I was even thinking a cool 'mod' would be to paint the bolts or nuts only...just for a bit of pizzazz. As for the writing on the brace, I think it's plain. Don't quote me on that yet...still need more pics.
