Re: GTI Euro Tails (MiaGTi)

Can someone (VWYankee perhaps?
) post me a decent pic of these little guys? I would http://****************.com/smile/emlove.gif a set.

Somebody call my name?

*edit*
I've edited this to include some more pics of the tails. Some on members cars. Hopefully, they won't mind. If you see your car, and don't want it on her, just PM me and I'll remove it.

I really hope to get this lower set (found in the Vortex Galeries under Essen Motor show - bookmarked in my browser). I'm still working on finding out just who makes them.

There are also the ones TMTuning has (not LED)...

Hella's LED's...

For those that just want to add something, here's a Golf with Kamei Tailight covers.

I like the first set the best, and they're the only ones that are unknown who makes them...

I think with smoked Lamin-X it will be sweet (like our GLI's). http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
Also, all of the above have amber signals, so it may be another adventure getting them to work on US cars. I'm hoping the LED's are wired the same as the Euro Jetta LED's, since it's already been figured out, and I've already done that.

If anyone has any other taillamps they've found for the Golf, please post them here as I'm adding this to the FAQ.

Now I won't have to go searching all the time (if I loose that bookmark).

Thank you! Those are my favorites as well. Please let me know if you find any other info. or pictures of them

If anyone has any pics of different kinds of tails that show a different angle on a car, that would be great.

Are those clears for the Jetta? They look like they would fit.

Nope, they're for the Golf Plus. They won't do us any good on this side of the pond.

It might be from http://www.in-pro.de. Those clear light for the Golf Plus are availe from in-pro, and their web-site has "all clear" lights for the Golf also...

Good finds, guys. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
That one "ebay find" looks similar but not as good quality as the Essen shown light.... the hunt is on.

Re: (VWYankee)

I thought someone mentioned that the Euro OEM taillights with the one rear foglight may not pass state inspection. Is that a real danger?
I'd love to have amber turn signals in the back, but don't want to get jacked by the DMV!

Reverse lights? What are those?

Seriously. I got my sticker yesterday, and he checked the wipers, the headlights, front turn signals, and brake lamps. That was it.

Different states have different requirements. After looking into NC requirements I found out it's okay to:
-not have front bumper marker lights
-not have rear side marker lights
-not have a reverse light at all (strange, I know)
All this time of running my MKIV with a Euro strip (deleting the marker light) I thought it was one of those illegal, but not enforced laws, but not in NC.
*edit*
The Euro tails will not have rear side markers integrated like the US tails (the little bulb in the side of your tails), and they will only have one reverse light. I know the latter is obvious, but thought I'd list it for those that are curious what's different in terms of what lights you'll have vs. the US spec.
