GTI, sport suspension+wheels Jetta soon-to-be w/ 6-sp 200+hp VR6, Beetle Turbo S sport suspension+wheels w/ 180hp 1.8T...where's the sport Passat (sport suspension+wheels, 6-sp, 4mo, V6 or 1.8T)?
Ah, I forgot, they'll probably have to have a sport Cabrio first, then the sport Eurovan, then the sport Polo, and then sport Lupo before they think of the sport Passat...
A sport Passat will take sales from Maxima/Altima, Acura CL/TLS, Accord, Camry, and maybe Legacy/WRX. It may take some from A4 but A4's currently have a waitlist so they'll take from the Japanese competition much, much more. Gotta explain to the "marketing types" at VWOA. Or will they have to hire Bob Lutz from GM to do it. JMO

It's coming in late March or early April. It has 275hp, and 6-speed, but the 6-speed won't be available until model year 2003.
Base price is ~$39,000.

The Euro Passat has this Sport package.......... nice cloth sport seats, carbon fiber dash, stiffer suspension, etc.
You could wait for something that will never arrive, or wait for 8 months and get a Mazda 6, which even drives better than the sport Passat in Europe.

Yeah I do. I saw them in Europe last summer. I just need to hook up my scanner.
There IS a Sport Passat, but VWofA won't bring it here!

If we're talking about the same thing, it's aluminum, not carbon fibre.
