New wheels and tires!

Hello everybody. I've been in the market for some new tires and also wanted to change up the look by adding new wheels. We have some pretty awful roads here in Iowa so I opted for some 17 instead of the 18s.

Picked up some Konig Tandems wrapped in General Gmax sized at 245/40/17. So far I'm pretty happy with the look and ride.

Have a good one!

Love this! This was what I really wanted to get. Can't tell from the pic but are your mirror caps brushed aluminum?

Nice. Love BBS, but man are they expensive.
Could always go the poor man's BBS route like me. Still not "cheap", and on the heavier side, but if just going for looks they are similar to CH-R but a lot less $$$. I got mine on discount around Black Friday a few years back. Also can keep an eye out for used sets -- I've seen good condition CH or CH-R pop up at decent prices from time to time.

Mine are BBS CO, 18x8 on stock rubber.

Yeah, the mirrors are brushed aluminum in that pic.

I knew I wanted a Golf. This is # 8 in my family between me and my parents. It wasn't even a question. Like many others though, I'm triggered by directional wheels. The car's only flaw.

As a matter of fact, I refused to even leave the dealer lot with them.

Hi MK7 people, it's Pabbs.
When I take my winter wheels/tires off for the year I'm going to replace the stock VW wheels. I would love to put some 18" wheels that are in the style of 80's VW/Euro vehicles. I found a whopping 1 style in a few hours of searching the net, but they are new and not available until September.
Did any of you have the same thought I've had with choosing wheels that give a nod to MK1 and MK2? If so, what did you find and where did you find it?
Cheers!

Good luck finding what you want that would fit a modern vehicle. Personally, the wheels used in the 80's look even worse on a modern vehicle than they did on an 80's vehicle.
