GTi VR6 Exhaust question........a simple one, hopfully!

As I under stand it you can use a TDi mid-pipe in place of the VR6 "suitcase"(resonator) mid-pipe, correct? all you have to do is cut the exhaust in the middle detent in factory one piece unit and simply install the TDi mid-pipe, piece of cake. Now I ask is there any place better to get the mid-pipe from, aside of the dealer? most places I call don't have listenings for new VW...yet. And for those who have tried this does it make the car sound much better? or better yet should I leave my jewish heritige behind and just get a freaking TT exhaust? Thanks in advance for any help.

Why don't you buy my exhaust....

Word of advice, do it right the first time and in the end you'll save money. Go for a full exhaust system. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

ive got a tt on my vr6. im sorry but what does being jewish having anything to do with exhaust on your car? is it not kosher??

I don't get the Jewish heritage vs. TT exhaust thing....but I'm a Jew-Lite by most standards.....just got the name and the schnazola.
Anyway, I bought a used Magnaflow exhaust and it was a real drag to deal with....and I will wind up replacing it within a year. I think the ADG44 guy might be cool to deal with, but I would shy away from a used exhaust. Like he said, "do it right", it'll be well worth it.

The Jew-Heritge equates to me trying to be cheap

The car is a lease and I don't want to spend anymore then I feel needed for an exhaust I am not into cars as much as most of you, I would however enjoy a slightly more aggressive tone from the exhaust and a nice idle rumble to boot; would be nice.

Yeah, you need an exhaust then. Go ahead and shell out! The Magnaflow is pretty loud and has a nice idle rumble. If you search around the Vortex (when search returns

)you can hear sound bytes of it on a VR6.
I have heard the TT is even louder, which interests me, b/c now that I hear the exhaust I want it even louder. The TT is a bit less expensive too.

Actually the Magnaflow is louder than the TT from my experience. I had the aluminum TT with the hidden tip until is rusted (shoulda got stainless). The TT sounded much louder inside the car compared to the Magnaflow. But from the outside the Magnaflow was so much louder than my TT. If you wanna make your Magnaflow loud, do what I did. Replace the resonator with a straight pipe. I had that setup for while but it was way too loud for me.
