Guess what I just fitted into my interior?

Oh yeah! The European Golf Sport Edition Shift Knob/Boot!!!
I origionally ordered the Lupo one but this came by accident. So I said what the hey and started cutting the shifter surround, looks really good (matches my cabrio chrome handles beautifully), but the fit isn't 100% yet. That and it sits higher than my last knob so I am back to tractor trailer shifting for a little while....
Below is a pic of the knob in some MK4 car, not mine, my pics will be soon...

By the title of the post I thought you had installed a fake fireplace or something! That shifter looks very classy.

Cabrio handles are pretty easy to do, all you need is a drill to drill out the rivets out of the old ones and pop the Cabby ones in...simple....after you've done it! http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

man, ive had the worst luck tring to install by goddamn cabby handles...and advice?

Yeah, the cabby handles really weren't that tough:
Ok, once you have the little box removed from the door that holds the handle itself, take a good look at it. You should see a brass/copper colored rod going through the entire thing, that is what is holding the stock plastic handle in.
Take a pair of needle nose pliars and bend the top of the brass rod so that if it were pushed you could slip it through the hole. Flip the handle over and with the needle nose pull on the rod from the side opposite the one you just bent. Once the rod is out, the plastic handle should come right out. Slip the cabby one in, then reinstall the whole thing back into the door.
Take a good look at the whole thing if you don't know what I mean. And if you need any more help, feel free to e-mail me...
